The Master of Arts program is available in French, Italian, and Hispanic Studies, designed to equip students for doctoral studies, teaching Romance languages, or pursuing careers in education, business, publishing, and other professional fields.
The graduate program provides comprehensive studies in French, Francophone, Iberian, Latin American, and Italian literatures. It combines foundational survey courses with specialized seminars focused on authors, themes, genres, or theoretical frameworks. Recognizing diverse approaches to literary studies, RLL graduate programs enable students to examine literary, linguistic, and cultural aspects of Romance languages through both traditional and modern lenses, including film and media. Emphasizing critical theory and historical context, students are advised to enroll in dedicated theory courses as well as those covering the philology and history of Romance languages. Most classes are conducted in the target language.
