The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences provides graduate programs for both Master's degrees (MA or MS) in Mathematics and a PhD in Mathematics. Master's students can select from diverse courses covering pure and applied mathematics as well as statistics. Every Mathematics master's candidate collaborates with a faculty advisor to produce a research paper in their chosen field. Additionally, students may pursue a dual master's degree combining mathematics with another relevant discipline. PhD candidates can focus on specialized areas including algebra, applied mathematics, combinatorics, computational mathematics, control theory, differential equations, geometry, numerical analysis, probability, or statistics, with interdisciplinary options also offered.
The School is dedicated to delivering an enriching educational journey for graduate students. Faculty provide personalized guidance and foster a welcoming, encouraging atmosphere while supporting students' career aspirations. Graduate students enjoy round-the-clock access to the department's computer lab, equipped with thirty modern PCs featuring internet connectivity. For advanced computational requirements, students can also connect to the University's Unix servers from the lab facilities.
