State and federal administrative regulations have expanded into a complex network encompassing over 400 Texas and federal agencies. This specialized program offers students comprehensive training in the fundamental concepts, subjects, and competencies essential for professionals engaging with government entities. Given the impracticality of addressing every agency's specific legal framework, students can specialize in a particular field or gain diverse knowledge through elective courses after completing core requirements. The mandatory Business and State Issues in Environmental Law course ensures all participants encounter real-world regulatory challenges applicable across major agencies. Following the core curriculum, students pursue independent research on environmental law or the legal framework of a significant federal or state agency. The program culminates in a hands-on internship at a government agency, typically within Texas's capital, where students gain firsthand experience of agency operations while collaborating with administrative personnel. This track serves as a foundational pathway for earning Special Distinction in Litigation recognition.
