Concentrating on prevalent disabilities, this PhD specialization in special education equips doctoral candidates for research and leadership roles in academic or community settings. Baylor employs a competency-driven curriculum to develop expertise in research, instruction, and supervision, combining theoretical foundations with practical applications for supporting those with common disabilities. Students can engage in research at the Spring Literacy Clinic within the Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities, as well as through innovative twice-exceptional programs offered by the Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development.
