Baylor's general Engineering program, designated as a pre-major, provides five specialization tracks: Biomedical, Humanitarian, Environmental, Geo/Petro, or a custom option. Each track includes six or more courses carefully selected from various university departments to equip students for engineering careers. Accredited by ABET's Engineering Accreditation Commission, the program establishes a foundation through core courses in basic sciences, mathematics, humanities, social sciences, and engineering sciences during the initial two years. Mathematics and fundamental sciences form the technical basis for the engineering coursework.
Recognizing the importance of practical experience, Baylor assists students in securing valuable summer internship opportunities. Numerous alumni further their education through graduate programs in engineering, law, medicine, or business.
