The Secondary Education program equips students for careers teaching grades 7-12. Upon completion, graduates receive a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with specialization in one academic discipline (options listed below). Students can also pursue additional certification in English as a Second Language.
Baylor's School of Education provides Teacher Education majors with a distinctive learning approach. Differing from conventional programs, it incorporates seven semesters of practical classroom training. The curriculum progressively develops teaching skills, with students assuming greater responsibilities each term. During their final year, participants engage in full-time teaching throughout both fall and spring semesters. Multiple Waco-area schools collaborate with Baylor's School of Education to offer real-world teaching opportunities for education majors.
