The Secondary Education program equips students for careers teaching grades 7-12. Upon completion, graduates receive a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with specialization in one subject area (see options below). Students can also pursue additional certification in English as a Second Language.
Baylor's School of Education provides Teacher Education majors with distinctive learning opportunities. Differing from conventional programs, it incorporates seven semesters of practical classroom experience. The curriculum progressively enhances theoretical knowledge while gradually increasing student responsibilities each term. During their final year, students undertake full-time teaching assignments throughout both fall and spring semesters. Multiple Waco-area schools collaborate with Baylor's School of Education to offer real-world teaching practice for education majors.
