The Secondary Education program equips students for careers teaching grades 7-12. Upon completion, graduates receive a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. Ed.) with specialization in one subject area (see options below). Students can also pursue additional certification in English as a Second Language.
Baylor's School of Education provides Teacher Education majors with an exceptional learning environment. Distinct from other institutions, the program includes seven semesters of practical classroom experience. This progressive approach allows students to develop their skills while taking on greater responsibilities each term. During their final year, participants engage in full-time teaching throughout both fall and spring semesters. The program collaborates with multiple Waco-area schools to offer valuable field experiences for future educators.
