The Master of Science in Historic Preservation provides students from various academic backgrounds with comprehensive training and the essential skills for careers in preservation. Seasoned instructors mentor students through immersive coursework and projects tackling multifaceted issues. The curriculum covers community involvement, responsible economic growth, and urban strategies that honor cultural and environmental stewardship. While grounded in history and architecture, our program also anticipates the future of cities, towns, and rural areas. We further examine intersections with legal frameworks, economic factors, landscape design, urban development, and other disciplines.
You must have a bachelor’s degree from an institution recognized by a regional accrediting association.
You must have earned a minimum of a 2.75 GPA from the undergraduate degree-granting institution.
Required Scores to demonstrate English Proficiency: TOEFL iBT 79; IELTS 6.5 Band; Pearson's PTE 53
Fall
Priority Deadline – February 15. Applicants who complete their application by the priority deadline date will be eligible for financial assistance consideration (i.e. graduate assistantships and scholarships). We will still accept applications after this date, but we cannot guarantee that financial assistance opportunities will be available.
Final Deadline –August 9, 2020 for Fall 2020 admission.
Spring
Final Deadline –December 27, 2020 for Spring 2021 admission.
