As respiratory therapists, professionals assist patients in maintaining or restoring health by assessing conditions, providing treatment, guiding rehabilitation, and offering education to prevent and address heart and lung diseases. The curriculum teaches critical skills including ventilator management, pulmonary rehabilitation techniques, and advanced cardiac life support procedures. Students also master airway maintenance, arterial blood gas collection and interpretation, pulmonary function testing, and sleep disorder diagnostics.
