Ball State's respiratory therapy program equips you for a fulfilling career with strong financial prospects, professional growth, and personal satisfaction. As respiratory therapists, professionals assist patients in maintaining or restoring health by assessing conditions, providing treatment, guiding rehabilitation, and offering education to prevent and address heart and lung diseases. Program graduates deliver hands-on patient care and health instruction for individuals facing diverse medical challenges. The curriculum teaches critical skills including ventilator management, pulmonary rehabilitation techniques, and advanced cardiac life support procedures. Students also master airway maintenance, arterial blood gas collection and interpretation, pulmonary function testing, and sleep disorder diagnostics.
Students should apply as a freshman undergraduate student if:
Students have completed or will complete high school or secondary school before the semester you apply to start
Students have not attended a university, college, or other postsecondary institution
Students wish to earn a bachelor’s degree
Required Scores to demonstrate English Proficiency: TOEFL iBT 79; IELTS 6.5 Band; Pearson's PTE 53
Dates and Deadlines - International Admissions must receive all your application materials by these dates for consideration for a specific term
Fall Term - application materials due by June 15th
Spring Term - application materials due by November 15th
Priority application date for fall enrollment: March 1; priority application date for spring enrollment: December 1.
