Students will follow the framework of bachelor's degree programs, including the University Core Curriculum and the specialized fields outlined here. Journalism and Strategic Communication majors should consult with a school advisor during their initial term. Before graduating, students must complete a senior survey, final examination, and concluding interview with their program coordinator.
Pursuing a secondary major or minor that enhances the primary field of study is recommended. Certain combinations within the School of Journalism and Strategic Communication may be restricted. Additional focus areas worth exploring include Cultural and Entertainment Reporting, Entrepreneurship, Media Analytics, Non-Profit Storytelling, Public Media, and Student Media. Always verify with a school advisor when choosing supplementary majors, minors, or specializations.
