The economics program at Ball State equips you for diverse and challenging careers in business, government, nonprofits, education, law, finance, and beyond. You'll gain insights into economic systems and their adaptations to changing conditions. Our rigorous curriculum offers small classes led by dedicated faculty, an active economics student organization, internship placements, practical experiences like the Federal Reserve Challenge, and additional learning resources through the John H. Schnatter Institute for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise and the Center for Business and Economic Research. The business specialization provides exceptional preparation for economics students targeting careers in finance, management, marketing, and related fields, while also serving as excellent groundwork for those considering an MBA. Alongside economics coursework, this track requires completion of the Miller College of Business core curriculum and essential business classes.
