Zoology, the scientific study of animals within biology, presents a dynamic and expansive discipline, allowing students in our program to customize their education based on personal interests. Though many associate zoology primarily with zoo management or veterinary medicine, there's also critical demand for researchers who apply animal expertise to environmental understanding and conservation. Our curriculum encompasses diverse specialties—including bird studies, mammal research, fish biology, insect science, parasite investigation, and beyond—delivering thorough training in animal science fundamentals. As one of our department's most sought-after programs, the zoology concentration equips graduates for immediate employment in animal-related careers or advanced study in specialized biological fields. This concentration satisfies partial requirements for either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in biology, with all majors needing to complete both the biology core courses and the University's general education requirements.
