At Ball State Dance, we explore how movement influences the world and how our art is shaped by society. We bridge creative exploration with practical skills, encouraging students to take initiative, innovate, and design their own path during college and after graduation. Our program nurtures technical skill, artistic expression, creative thinking, and intellectual growth by examining dance through historical, social, and theoretical lenses. The BFA in dance blends professional training with liberal arts, featuring intensive coursework across styles—modern, ballet, jazz, tap, musical theater, and global forms—alongside deep study of performance, choreography, and theory.
