Ball State's women's and gender studies program provides an in-depth examination of gendered experiences across all identities. With its adaptable, interdisciplinary approach, this degree serves as strong groundwork for diverse professional trajectories. Students benefit from personalized instruction through small classes led by committed professors. The curriculum incorporates practical learning opportunities to equip graduates with career-ready skills. Numerous students leverage this program's versatility by pursuing dual majors. Since women's and gender studies draws from multiple disciplines, coursework often counts toward secondary majors or minors in other departments. As a Women's and Gender Studies student, you'll examine how gender interacts with factors like race, socioeconomic status, age, sexuality, ability, faith, and nationality. You'll investigate how societal institutions - including education systems, corporations, governments, and families - reinforce gender norms. This knowledge will enable you to collaborate effectively in professional settings, address complex challenges, and champion equity and inclusion initiatives.
