The Committee on Degrees in Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality provides undergraduate students with both a primary concentration (major) and secondary field option (minor). Senior thesis writing opportunities and joint concentration possibilities are available for qualified juniors, allowing them to combine WGS research with another academic discipline. Harvard's interdisciplinary WGS program integrates diverse fields including humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences - spanning history, literature, visual arts, anthropology, sociology, ethnic studies, LGBTQ+ studies, political science, psychology, and biology among others. This cross-disciplinary approach examines the historical evolution of social norms and their cultural variations.
