An elementary school educator plays a crucial role in shaping young minds and developing future leaders. Our bachelor's program in elementary education equips you to teach students from kindergarten through sixth grade. As an elementary education student, you'll gain hands-on experience working with children and educators in nearby schools and community programs. Along with building broad subject knowledge, you'll select a specialized focus area from 12 available concentrations. This degree combines our University Core Curriculum with professional education courses and your chosen specialization area. Before your junior year, you'll need to meet specific requirements including earning at least a C in designated courses, maintaining a 3.0 GPA, and passing the CASA exam. This program prepares you to instruct K-6 students while offering numerous field experiences. You also have the option to pursue a dual major in special education alongside your elementary education degree.
