Ball State boasts a proud heritage as an institution dedicated to teacher education. Our chemistry teaching program equips you to fulfill Indiana's certification standards for high school chemistry instruction (grades 9-12). Upon graduation and employment at a secondary school, you'll guide students in mastering essential chemistry concepts while readying them for advanced studies. This curriculum specifically qualifies you to teach chemistry in Indiana high schools, combining rigorous chemistry coursework from our department with educational methodology classes from the Teachers College.
Students should apply as a freshman undergraduate student if:
Students have completed or will complete high school or secondary school before the semester you apply to start
Students have not attended a university, college, or other postsecondary institution
Students wish to earn a bachelor’s degree
Required Scores to demonstrate English Proficiency: TOEFL iBT 79; IELTS 6.5 Band; Pearson's PTE 53
Dates and Deadlines - International Admissions must receive all your application materials by these dates for consideration for a specific term
Fall Term - application materials due by June 15th
Spring Term - application materials due by November 15th
Priority application date for fall enrollment: March 1; priority application date for spring enrollment: December 1.
