Founded in 1979, the School of Nursing provides a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. This curriculum trains entry-level nurse generalists and licensed associate degree nurses to work within healthcare teams, delivering care to individuals and groups across various environments. Additionally, it lays the foundation for further education, research, and professional growth. Students benefit from the university's comprehensive resources, gaining a well-rounded education in both humanities and sciences.
Admission to the professional nursing program requires completion of prerequisite courses. The initial two years are classified as Pre-Nursing (PNUR). The professional component spans five terms, combining classroom instruction, lab work, and clinical practice. Upon graduation, students qualify to take the NCLEX-RN exam for registered nurse licensure.
Licensed associate degree nurses pursuing their Bachelor of Science in Nursing must fulfill prerequisites before entering the three-semester professional program.
