The Department of Mathematics and Statistics provides undergraduate programs in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (with three specialization tracks), an accelerated combined Bachelor's/Master's program in Data Science, along with Mathematics and Statistics minor options. Students gain comprehensive mathematical training that prepares them for advanced studies or professional opportunities in mathematical and statistical fields. The Mathematics program equips students with broad mathematical knowledge, ideal for graduate studies in Mathematics or careers demanding analytical skills. This path particularly benefits those aiming for academic teaching positions or seeking a liberal arts-focused education.
Within Applied Mathematics, the department provides three distinct tracks. The Applied Mathematics track prepares students for graduate studies in mathematics or applied fields, as well as careers in engineering, physical sciences, computing, and related disciplines in biological, behavioral, or management sciences that utilize applied mathematical techniques.
