The Early Child Development program equips students to engage with or support children aged 6 and under. Those pursuing this field will acquire expertise in early childhood growth, professional childcare, and educational initiatives for young learners, along with techniques for interacting with preschool-aged children. In particular, participants will develop abilities to comprehend, mentor, and educate young children while gaining practical experience for roles in early childhood environments like daycare facilities, preschools, or Head Start programs. The curriculum also covers leadership in early childhood initiatives, daycare certification, professional development, and advisory services. Internships must occur at facilities accredited by or seeking accreditation from organizations such as NAEYC, NAC, NECPA, or comparable bodies.
