The department provides four distinct academic tracks. The pre-veterinary/pre-professional pathway (ANPV) equips students with essential biological and physical science knowledge for careers in cutting-edge animal biotechnology fields, while also meeting prerequisites for Auburn's veterinary program, other professional schools, or graduate studies. The animal and allied industries track (ANAI) delivers broader training in livestock management and agricultural business, with increased elective flexibility. The equine science specialization (ANEQ) enables students to concentrate on scientific principles and hands-on skills needed for equine careers, with elective options that can fulfill veterinary school requirements. The meat science concentration (ANMS) readies students for quality control positions and R&D roles in food production, with elective opportunities to specialize in areas like animal genetics, dietary science, reproductive biology, development, behavior, equine studies, or pet care.
