Biosystems engineers focus on providing communities with secure and abundant food supplies, clean drinking water, sustainable fuel and energy options, and a healthy living environment. As a biosystems engineering student, you will apply engineering and biological principles to address challenges in biological systems, agriculture, natural resources, and environmental protection. Auburn provides Alabama's sole accredited biosystems engineering program, with its forest engineering option being unique in the Southern region. The major establishes a solid grounding in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and engineering mechanics shared across engineering disciplines. You will integrate this engineering foundation with biological knowledge concerning environmental conservation, food and fiber production and distribution, and off-highway vehicle engineering.
