Imagine yourself working in a TV newsroom, either on-camera or behind the scenes, covering local or national stories across news, sports, or entertainment. This program teaches you how to collect and present news for both broadcast and digital media, as well as how to script and produce newscasts. Broadcast journalism students will master core journalism principles, news presentation techniques for multiple platforms, operation of professional broadcast equipment, and newscast organization and direction. You'll gain practical experience with on-air reporting and anchoring. Additional elective courses allow you to explore topics like government, politics, public health policy, economics, sports economics, health promotion, or America's sports culture.
