The MS economics program blends hands-on learning, adaptable course selections, and professional guidance to equip students for thriving careers in diverse fields. Participants master economic modeling techniques and analytical skills applicable to driving change in business, government, and communities. During the initial phase, students complete foundational coursework in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics with data science, learning from distinguished faculty actively engaged in cutting-edge research. Customizable interdisciplinary electives enable students to tailor their studies to specific professional aspirations.
Applicants must fulfill the requirements of both the Graduate College and the W. P. Carey School of Business.
Applicants are eligible to apply to the program if they have earned a bachelor's or master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = "A") in the last 60 hours of their first bachelor's degree program, or they must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = "A") in an applicable master's degree program.
