The PhD in electrical engineering is granted based on demonstrated research excellence resulting in an original dissertation that advances scholarly knowledge.
Graduate-level coursework and programs are available across six specialized fields:
control systems

digital and analog integrated circuit engineering
optoelectronics and photonic technologies
information processing and telecommunication systems
The optoelectronics and photonics program features five advanced undergraduate courses plus 14 graduate-level classes covering semiconductor physics, device characterization, photonic systems, fabrication processes, nanoscale electronics, molecular-scale devices, charge transport phenomena, computational modeling, along with periodic specialized offerings.
