The EdD in leadership and innovation develops scholar-practitioners, catering to experienced education leaders across various settings who aim to enhance their practice and expand learning opportunities for all age groups. This three-year cohort program is available in hybrid format (blending West Valley campus classes with online sessions) or fully online, featuring identical curriculum and faculty. Participants enter as skilled educators, administrators, university professionals, or other education leaders. The curriculum enhances leadership capabilities for driving organizational change, emphasizing action research through core courses that develop critical analysis of practice-related challenges in three focus areas: preK-12 transformation, higher education reform, or systemic and professional leadership innovation. Specialization occurs within coursework as students adapt concepts to their professional environments. Throughout the program, learners engage in iterative research cycles within their workplaces, presenting findings annually at a virtual doctoral research symposium.
