The Department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership (TLPL) represents one of three key departments in the College of Education. Its programs foster critical examination of educational policies, instructional practices, and relevant societal concerns. Students can pursue undergraduate degrees (B.A. or B.S.) or advanced degrees including Master's programs (M.A. with thesis/non-thesis options, M.Ed.) and a Ph.D. The department organizes its work through three specialized divisions: Educational Policy and Leadership (EPL), Language, Literacy, and Social Inquiry (LLSI), and Science, Technology, and Mathematics Education (STME), each focusing on distinct academic disciplines.
To be recommended for full admission to the TLPL Ph.D. program, a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 is required. A minimum graduate grade point average of 3.5 is required for applicants who have completed a graduate program.
