The skills in user experience that are increasingly sought after by employers are often not part of conventional psychology or engineering curricula. The Bachelor of Science in human systems engineering, specializing in user experience, integrates subjects from psychology, web technologies, human factors, visual design, and technical communication to ensure products and services are functional, easy to use, and appealing.
User experience centers on creating, building, and assessing products and services that are practical, user-friendly, and attractive. The user experience curriculum covers UX research, design, content creation, communication strategies, tone of voice, and the assessment of all elements and products that end users engage with.
Students gain expertise in investigating customer requirements, establishing benchmarks for successful products and services, creating prototypes, and improving them through usability testing and other user-focused approaches.
You’re considered a first-year student if you graduated from a regionally accredited high school or earned your GED, and you never attended college or have fewer than 12 transferable college credit hours.
First-year students must have a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) (a "B" or better where "A"=4.00) from a secondary school.
