Those enrolled in the BMus program for theory and composition must select a specialization in either theory or composition. Composition-focused students receive a single degree in this discipline.

Within the composition specialization, learners concentrate on mastering diverse approaches to creating music across multiple formats and styles, such as orchestral works, chamber pieces, electronic compositions, and scores for films and videos. The School of Music, Dance and Theatre provides access to instruction from renowned composers with global recognition.

This curriculum can serve as foundational preparation for pursuing advanced degrees like a master's or doctorate in music composition or other graduate-level music studies.
