The BFA program specializing in ceramics offers a dynamic and rigorous setting for artistic and intellectual development. Recognizing that creativity thrives when discipline, historical knowledge, and freedom intersect, the ceramics curriculum blends mastery of traditional techniques with encouragement for originality and self-direction. Students are empowered to discover their unique artistic voice and develop expressive methods within ceramic media.
The ceramics facilities boast a comprehensive array of kilns, pottery wheels, and specialized tools. Dedicated instructors guide students in mastering both technical skills and conceptual approaches, enabling diverse artistic exploration. The program is further enriched by visiting artists and the Ceramics Research Center at ASU Art Museum, housing over 4,000 works that offer exceptional resources for ceramic study and investigation.
Prospective students select their BFA concentration during ASU enrollment. Those wishing to modify their specialization after admission can consult with a School of Art academic advisor.
