ASU's School of Sustainability empowers students to reimagine and reshape our planet's future amid growing global challenges. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, international study opportunities, collaborative research, community involvement, and leadership cultivation. Today's innovations will directly influence tomorrow's societal and environmental well-being.
Students can pursue two distinct sustainability degrees: a BA or BS. Each program grounds sustainability principles in actual global issues while equipping learners with actionable strategies to address critical ecological, economic, and social concerns. The curriculum teaches holistic problem-solving through frameworks like adaptive systems theory, cross-scale impact analysis, ethical decision-making, stakeholder collaboration, future scenario planning, and other advanced methodologies.
The Bachelor of Arts program specifically focuses on sustainability's human dimensions across international, regional, and community settings, including areas like global sustainable development, policy-making for sustainable systems, social sustainability, and urban sustainability dynamics.
