The Bachelor of Arts in social and cultural analysis with a women and gender studies concentration provides a cross-disciplinary education centered on women's varied experiences across global and domestic settings. This program investigates gender as a cultural construct that influences individual identities, worldviews, life chances, and actions.
Course offerings examine how gender interacts with race, socioeconomic status, and sexual orientation, the societal systems affecting both women and men, and diverse feminist perspectives analyzing and shaping women's societal roles. Key study areas encompass sexuality and gender, intersectional feminist theories, borderland gender issues, global feminist movements, activism and social change, feminist history, and critical body studies.
Western Undergraduate Exchange program participants may pursue this major at West campus. Eligible students from western U.S. states could qualify for reduced out-of-state tuition, paying 150% of Arizona resident rates plus fees.
