The Asia, Pacific and Diaspora Studies (BA) program, administered by the Department of Critical Race, Gender, and Culture Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences, focuses on interdisciplinary research of Asia, the Pacific, and their global diasporic communities. Through rigorous study, students analyze historical and modern global cultural developments by examining the movement of people, cultures, and ideas across Asia, the Pacific, and their diasporas throughout the Americas and other regions. The curriculum investigates imperial and colonial histories, along with intersections of gender/sexuality, class, and racial/ethnic relations within local, national, and international contexts.
