Exercise Science examines the body's response to physical activity, covering immediate and long-term effects, environmental factors, and specialized groups like athletes, rehabilitation patients, children, and seniors. It integrates knowledge from physiology, biomechanics, sports nutrition, behavioral approaches, and exercise program development.
Earning a master's in exercise science unlocks diverse career paths such as clinical exercise physiology, cardiac rehab, personal training, and strength coaching. Some graduates choose to further their education through doctoral programs in allied health or exercise physiology, or by attending medical school. All share the common goal of enhancing their clients' health, wellness, and performance.
Alumni of Adelphi's exercise science master's program now work in sports medicine clinics, research initiatives, rehab centers, athletic performance facilities, and hospitals.
Numerous graduates have built rewarding careers as personal trainers, rehab experts, university professors, strength coaches, health advisors, and wellness coordinators. Approximately 40% of our graduates continue their education, becoming practicing physical therapists, occupational therapists, physician assistants, chiropractors, doctors, and researchers.
