Join us in our mission to push the boundaries of mathematical discovery and education through meaningful research. Our work seeks to develop innovative methods and practical solutions that serve both the academic mathematics world and broader society. By collaborating with university colleagues, industry leaders, and government officials, you'll have opportunities to share insights and establish valuable professional relationships during your research journey. We offer a diverse range of study areas in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics, all within a nurturing setting designed for emerging scholars. Your academic work will result in a thesis focused on a subject you select with your advisor, featuring significant research contributions with original elements. These may involve novel concepts or insightful analysis of cutting-edge mathematical developments.

Your thesis development will be supported through consistent guidance from your supervisor. While your final evaluation depends entirely on your thesis, your program typically incorporates six advanced courses (each requiring 10 hours of study) offered by the MAGIC consortium graduate school.

Following your research period, you'll have a maximum of one year to complete your thesis writing.

Degree conferral (either PhD or MPhil) depends on your thesis evaluation and an oral defense examination.
The Mathematics Department generally expects PhD theses to range between 100-200 A4 pages, while MPhil theses should typically span 70-120 A4 pages.
