Our PhD program offers you the chance to undertake a significant independent research endeavor, resulting in an innovative contribution to your selected discipline.
You can explore diverse research areas. Current student projects span varied topics including cardiovascular disease mechanisms at the molecular level, physicians' ethical decision-making in clinical settings, and the impact of nutritional factors on cranial morphology.
During your research journey, you'll receive guidance from a distinguished field expert and benefit from a dedicated Thesis Advisory Panel. Those supervised through the Centre for Anatomical and Human Sciences enroll in the Human Sciences PhD track, while research conducted in our other centers typically falls under the Medical Sciences PhD program.
The PhD offers both full-time and part-time options. If you can dedicate fewer than approximately 35 weekly hours to your research, the part-time route may be preferable, requiring a minimum commitment of 17.5 hours per week.
You'll enroll at your primary supervisor's institution while enjoying access to resources and support across both our partner universities - Hull and York. All degrees are jointly conferred by the University of Hull and University of York.
