Governments and global organizations shape many aspects of our daily existence, prompting important discussions about individual rights and state authority. This interdisciplinary course, offered jointly by the Philosophy Department and the Politics and International Relations Department, examines key concepts in political and legal thought and their interconnectedness. Through analyzing historical and contemporary theorists, you'll investigate essential philosophical questions about law and governance. Financial support opportunities exist for LLM Legal and Political Theory students at York. Upon securing your place in the program, you may request these bursaries by emailing York Law School at: law-pgt-adminyork.ac.uk.
Applicants must submit a brief personal statement explaining how the bursary would benefit them, which will be evaluated alongside their resume and additional application materials.
