As globalization progresses, international law grows ever more crucial, and our International Law LLM equips you for a successful career on the global stage. Our faculty consists of distinguished scholars at the forefront of their fields, specializing in diverse areas such as international human rights law, armed conflict regulations, development law, energy and climate legislation, cyber security law, refugee protections, maritime law, and international judicial systems. In past years, faculty have arranged educational trips to international institutions and courts in London and The Hague. Our International Law LLM draws a diverse student body from across the globe, including not only law graduates but also those with backgrounds in political science, international relations, and related fields, fostering a dynamic and enriching academic atmosphere for studying international law. Based at Westminster Law School's central London location, near major UK institutions and international organizations, this program offers flexible full-time or part-time options with September or January start dates. Our research initiative, International Law at Westminster (ILaW), leads impactful studies on pressing global legal matters, securing external funding for their significance. ILaW frequently hosts events welcoming student participation. Annually, the Oxford University Press recognizes the top-performing International Law LLM student. This program deepens your grasp of public international law's core principles, contemporary developments, and globalization's profound implications for legal frameworks worldwide.

Qualification Requirements

A minimum of a lower second class honours degree (2:2). Related disciplines include law, social sciences, international relations. Applicants without the standard qualifications, but with significant professional experience in the relevant field or related professional qualifications may be considered.

If your first language is not English, you should have an IELTS 6.5 with at least 6.5 in writing and no element below 6.0. TOEFL 88 overall with a minimum of 17 in Listening, 21 in Writing, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking.

Applicants are required to submit one academic reference.
