For those returning to education or without A level Maths, our foundation year provides the essential mathematics and physics knowledge required to advance to our BEng Music Technology Systems program.

During your initial year, you'll master mathematics and physics content equivalent to A level standards while starting to build hands-on experience in our electronics laboratories.

Successful completion of the foundation year guarantees progression to the first year of our Music Technology Systems degree. You'll investigate subjects like synthesiser technology, MIDI systems, sampling techniques, and audio signal processing, applying this knowledge in recording studios and field projects. Your skills will be used to develop creative, efficient solutions for real-world challenges.
Through individual and collaborative projects at each academic stage, you'll cultivate practical abilities, organizational expertise, management strategies, and business acumen - graduating with the confidence to excel as a researcher, skilled designer, or technical manager in this dynamic industry.
Alternatively, you may opt to switch to any other BEng program within our department. High achievers in the Foundation Year examinations will also qualify for potential transfer to our MEng degree courses.
