Our BA in Art History offers three enriching years of study focused on art and architectural history.
The program begins with a comprehensive foundation year in art history, followed by deeper exploration in years two and three, providing well-rounded training in both theory and practice. Art history's interdisciplinary approach enables you to expand your current skills and interests, enhanced by our strong connections with other departments in the Faculties of Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences.
You'll encounter an impressive diversity of art and architecture from regions including Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, North Africa, and South and Southeast Asia. The curriculum spans various historical periods, from late antiquity to contemporary art.
As a classic humanities discipline with practical applications, Art History helps cultivate highly transferable skills. We maintain partnerships with numerous arts organizations at local, national, and international levels, extending beyond traditional museums and galleries to include country houses, maritime museums, and religious institutions. These collaborations enrich both our teaching and research, offering students valuable connections with these cultural partners.
