The School of Life Sciences is housed in state-of-the-art laboratories located in central London, featuring top-tier facilities that enable pioneering research across various fields such as molecular and cellular biology, fermentation and biotechnology, as well as human health and performance.

Among its globally acclaimed research initiatives are studies on biopolymers and nanotechnology, obesity, cancer, inflammation, human exercise performance and aging, nutrition and global public health, along with social prescribing and resilience.

The School's research activities are supported by MSc and PhD candidates, post-doctoral researchers, technical staff, and faculty members. Funding comes from both national and international sources, as well as through collaborations with industry partners.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants should normally have a minimum classification of an upper second class honours degree (2:1) or equivalent and preferably a Masters degree (or Masters degree pending). All applicants must meet the university's English Language requirements. IELTS - 6.5 with a minimum 6.0 in each component. TOEFL - 92 overall with a minimum of 20 in Listening, 24 in Writing, 19 in Reading and 20 in Speaking.
