This two-year program is tailored for aspiring students looking to enhance their menswear design abilities and implement them in a professional environment. It's ideal for those focused on launching their own menswear label while gaining hands-on industry experience. The curriculum features one year of project-focused learning followed by an industry placement year. Applicants must hold a BA in fashion or possess substantial industry experience, along with an understanding of the global market and their brand's potential position within it to successfully establish their label after completing the program. The project-driven coursework includes two key modules that progressively build confidence in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary settings, fostering creative, practical, and theoretical skills. Our alumni have secured positions at prestigious brands like Bottega Veneta, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Adidas, and Charles Jeffrey, while others have founded their own ventures. Distinguished graduates include Priya Ahluwalia, recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Award 2021, co-winner of the LVMH Prize 2020, New Generation prize 2019, and H&M Prize 2018; Mateo Velazquez, a Hyeres 2021 finalist; and San Kim, known for their viral inflatable garment design in 2019. Located at our Harrow Arts campus, students benefit from top-tier facilities, extensive networking options, and guest lectures from industry professionals. Career Prospects: This program attracts individuals with notable industry experience aiming to create their own menswear brand. Participants should be ready to launch their label upon graduation. Students can choose between the one-year Menswear MA to develop their brand or the two-year Menswear MFA, which includes an industry placement. The university maintains strong industry connections, facilitating internships and job placements. Past sessions have featured guest lectures by figures like Charles Jeffrey, Rotting Dean Bazaar, Ben Reardon, and representatives from Adidas and Martine Rose.

Applicants are required to submit a portfolio, if this does not contain sufficient menswear content, applicants will then be required to create a virtual portfolio of three design projects that best evidence individual inspiration, and how this is developed through the process of designing. Applicants will also need to identify in writing a specific area of personal interest that they believe will create a positive contribution to the menswear industry and which they envisage studying in depth whilst on the course. Selection for interview is based on both application and portfolio.
