The Master of Arts in International Relations and Democratic Politics offers an in-depth, critical analysis of the factors influencing global political dynamics and interstate relationships. Building on fundamental theories of democratic governance, the program investigates diverse democratic concepts (including pluralism, civil society, equality, and human rights) while analyzing the relationship between theory and implementation in both established and emerging democracies, as well as in global governance frameworks.Students will examine multiple dimensions of international systems and political structures, encompassing the evolution of sociopolitical power dynamics, conflicts, and nation-state development. These subjects are analyzed through comparative approaches involving governmental, political, and societal transformations within historical contexts of continuity, change, and divergence. Can democratic principles transcend national boundaries in our interconnected world? Does democracy retain its capacity to regulate authority in global affairs? How do democratic institutions navigate complex policy challenges?
