The Master of Arts in Cultural and Critical Studies forms part of the Cultural and Literary Studies Suite, a collection of four MA programs that unite scholars, curators, and professionals dedicated to examining modern and contemporary culture through aesthetic, critical, literary, and experiential lenses. You'll attend classes alongside peers from the Art and Visual Culture MA, English Literature: Modern and Contemporary Fictions MA, and Museum, Galleries and Contemporary Culture MA, immersing yourself in a vibrant, intellectually challenging atmosphere that fosters cross-disciplinary dialogue. This Cultural and Critical Studies MA provides a distinctive opportunity to engage with current critical and cultural discussions across diverse disciplines. By examining various visual, textual, and popular cultural forms, the program particularly suits those with broad interests in arts and humanities, as well as individuals passionate about contemporary theoretical discourse. Our approach builds on a rich legacy of hands-on involvement with applied arts and culture. Situated in London's cultural epicenter, we offer an unparalleled educational setting, enhanced by our status as one of the UK's most internationally diverse institutions where you'll learn alongside students from numerous cultural backgrounds. Throughout the program, you'll receive guidance through academic skills workshops covering topics like enhancing scholarly writing and conducting research projects, all tailored to support your transition to postgraduate-level essay and dissertation work.
