Course overview Creative technologies are revolutionizing how we interact with our environment, with extended realities (XR) - including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) - leading this transformation. These technologies are progressively influencing sectors such as arts, entertainment, gaming, architecture, and education. The MA Immersive Media Design program prepares creative professionals from various backgrounds with the necessary skills to develop engaging immersive experiences across these evolving industries and more.This program combines artistic approaches with technical knowledge, enabling you to create innovative immersive media projects that push boundaries in storytelling and interactive design. Through practical, project-focused learning, you'll work with cutting-edge tools and technologies, gaining hands-on experience in immersive production while examining the cultural and social impacts of emerging technologies.The curriculum promotes imaginative design, experimental approaches, and inclusive methods, inspiring work that tackles current societal challenges and reaches worldwide audiences.During the program, you'll develop a professional collection of original immersive media works, showcasing your capacity to imagine, design, and deliver meaningful immersive experiences. The program concludes with a capstone project where you'll create an immersive media piece reflecting your personal interests and professional aspirations.Upon completion, you'll possess both the creative insight and technical skills to pioneer innovations and make valuable contributions to the expanding immersive media industry.
A minimum of a lower second class honours degree (2:2) In a related creative subject such as digital arts and design, new media, film, performance, or games design, but students with other degrees will also be considered.
Applicants may be interviewed, set an assignment, or asked to submit a portfolio.
 
If your first language is not English you should have an IELTS 6.5 overall, with at least 5.5 in each element. TOEFL: 88 overall with a minimum of 17 in Listening, 21 in Writing, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking.
