The MA Design program places design thinking and innovation at its core. You'll master essential research techniques to investigate and create practical design solutions addressing society's evolving demands. This course brings together students from diverse design backgrounds and other fields, pushing them to devise creative answers to real-world challenges. Through this cross-disciplinary approach, you'll hone skills applicable across the design spectrum while focusing your advanced studies in your preferred specialization, whether fashion, industrial design, or other areas via your major project. The curriculum incorporates hands-on experience through live briefs or optional internships, complemented by specialized design modules. Your learning journey involves engaging activities that foster creativity, problem-solving, production, and distribution methods. You'll apply conceptual thinking, hands-on creation, and careful observation to both practical and social contexts. Experimental and imaginative methods are nurtured through workshops and participation in global events and research initiatives. Our teaching team comprises diverse professionals with international reputations in both research and practice. You'll collaborate across disciplines to tackle creative challenges, exchanging ideas with seasoned experts throughout our School - from wearable technology in fashion to bio-fabrication - expanding the frontiers of design innovation. The one-year track offers a conventional master's degree, while the two-year advanced practice option enriches your credentials with either vocational training or a research internship.
