Our civil and environmental engineering program equips you with insights into how civil engineering intersects with contemporary environmental challenges.

You'll enhance your analytical abilities in key disciplines such as structural analysis, sustainability, geotechnics, and hydraulics. Throughout the program, you'll apply cutting-edge IT methods to address intricate engineering problems.

Developed through industry collaboration, this program holds accreditation as a technical MSc degree from the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) - a consortium including the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and Institute of Highway Engineers. Additionally, it's accredited by the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES), with successful completion meeting the academic criteria for chartered engineer status.

Qualification Requirements

You should have an honours degree (2:2 or above) in civil or structural engineering or another engineering qualification at an equivalent level. We may also offer you a place based on a combination of an ordinary degree (e.g. BSc/BEng in engineering without honours) together with relevant experience from within the work environment. All applications are considered individually. You need to meet our English language requirement - a minimum of IELTS 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening).
