This dynamic program builds upon groundbreaking research conducted by leading scholars in translation, transnational, and transcultural studies.
You'll gain a solid theoretical foundation in translation and intercultural communication while having opportunities to create your own translations, evaluate existing works, and develop essential skills for the language services field and translation careers.
This interdisciplinary course explores translation between English and Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Italian, and Spanish within cultural frameworks. The curriculum includes research methodology training and culminates in a Dissertation where you can focus on academic research or create an original translation across various genres accompanied by critical analysis.
Graduates will be exceptionally prepared for careers in linguistic and intercultural mediation, the expanding language services sector, or advanced academic pursuits including Warwick's PhD program in Translation and Transcultural Studies.

Qualification Requirements

2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a related subject, e.g. a single or combined Honours Undergraduate degree in Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, or Translation Studies, or another Humanities subject.
IELTS - overall score of 7.0, minimum component scores of two at 6.0/6.5 and the rest at 7.0 or above.
TOEFL(IBT) - 100, comprising Reading 22, Listening 21, Speaking 23, Writing 21.
