Warwick's Applied Linguistics program provides a distinctive way to examine language: we use linguistic theories and insights to tackle practical challenges. The Linguistics with Chinese (BA) program helps you develop interdisciplinary expertise based on cutting-edge research in language and communication. You'll then use this knowledge to investigate, question, comprehend, and resolve issues with impactful solutions.
Combining linguistics with Chinese studies allows you to discover the remarkable human ability for language while advancing your Chinese proficiency. As a linguistics student, you'll examine language structure, functionality, and its connection to society.
The program includes training in written and spoken Chinese, along with cross-cultural communication skills. Your linguistic analysis abilities will enhance your language acquisition, while your Chinese expertise will enrich your work as a linguist. This degree prepares you for diverse careers that demand both modern language proficiency and comprehensive understanding of language, culture, and communication.
